I discovered Saga Sig's photographs around the same time as I found Confetti System's work and immediately noticed the similarity in their colour palettes.

People who know me like to poke fun at the fact that I am a cat-person. I wasn't always this way, up until two years ago I hadn't had a cat for maybe 15 years and was definitely a dog-person.

 Anyway, whenever it comes to posting something to do with cats I feel pretty self conscious and worry about the impending ridicule I may receive...but sometimes, just sometimes, you see something that is so great and just happens to coincidentally involve cats that you have to share it! 

I saw this on Poppytalk and went over to the website of the design duo 'Blow Up!'. Love their ideas and love their photographs. Their Etsy shop features these cat bow ties and collars. Too cool. Too bad Momo's birthday just passed, as she would really have loved to wear this pink frilly collar.....ok maybe I would have loved it and she would have hated it. 

do cats like wearing bow ties? definitely.

green tea & white chocolate marble cake

Last night, I got the familiar urge to bake. Upon request, my brother had brought back some matcha powder for me from his last trip to Japan and I've been thinking about using it as an ingredient for awhile now. I found this recipe here and mainly because I had all but two of the ingredients I decided to give it a go. I used a round cake tin although the recipe suggested a loaf tin and it came out fine. The only thing this recipe didn't add was some kind of frosting - and I LOVE frosting so I whipped up a new invention: white chocolate green tea frosting! This cake was so easy to bake and so delicious. The recipe is for a  marbled cake but I think that when I try it next, I won't separate the two mixtures because the bites I had from the green tea parts were SO much better than the rest. 

I love green tea and I love cake so this is basically my dream come true!

Marie Antoinette was on TV last night so of course I stayed up to watch it, even though I was exhausted from staying up the night before finishing my dissertation. Finally handed it in yesterday! Woo.

I have to admit, the first time I saw this I was a little bit underwhelmed by it, but since then I've watched it numerous times and I love it more with every viewing. 

It's like a decadent dessert for your eyes! (weird metaphor, I know.) 

I love the ranges in colour of her hair in the film, changing from pale yellow to light pink. It reminded me of the awesome hair stuff which Bleach London is getting up to lately. I really love the idea of having white blonde hair which I can add pastel colours to but alas I am a brunette with dark eyebrows so the actual act of doing that scares me a little bit. Maybe one day..... I suppose it is only hair! 

And now the clothes... watching the film I found myself wishing that people still dressed like that today! Of course, it was only the very wealthy who could afford to do so. I love how feminine everything was and the beautiful colours. It was all about adornment. The clothes were probably really uncomfortable and heavy in reality and us contemporary gals seem to only accept mild discomfort for the sake of fashion so instead of dreaming of dressing like that, I started thinking about ways to recreate the same sort of Marie Antoinette vibe. Floaty fabrics, lots of whites and creams, floral print, flowers in your hair and candy coloured shoes!

oh my god, shoes.

Jeffrey Campbell shoes are amazing! I love them because they remind me of all the things you love about high heels when you are a little girl. They are exaggerated and whimsical. I don't own many pairs of high heels and although I'm short, I generally prefer to be comfortable rather than trying to teeter in high heels, but I think I would happily teeter around with some of these on my feet! 

They are just too cool.

I haven't done a post on my wish project in awhile. All the wishes I received were a great help so thank you to those who contributed. To date, I have 126 wishes which is really good! I'm looking to collect a few more so if anyone can think of anything that they want to wish for, please feel free to remain anonymous, as many others have.
